Rita Courtwright, a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and a tribal citizen of the Fort Mojave Tribe of Indians, joined IFAI as the Director of Communications in June of 2025. With over 25 years of experience in tribal communications, she is a seasoned communications professional dedicated to amplifying Native voices and advancing wellness in Indigenous communities.

Rita holds a Master of Arts in Communications from Northeastern State University and brings deep expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, content creation, and risk mitigation. A passionate advocate for collaboration and truth-telling, Rita is committed to driving positive changes through impactful communication.
