Duties Include:
- Supporting and participating in all aspects of outreach and engagement with Tribal citizens and representatives, primarily but not exclusively focused on those with ancestral or extant ties to southeastern VA. A particular focus of this position will be creating opportunities to listen and support Tribal issues and goals and identify. overlapping priorities with DNH’s Program mission and resource protection goals.
- Developing, maintaining, and updating Tribal contacts, initiating introductory conversations, facilitating meetings, field trips, workdays, and events, in collaboration with staff from the Indigenous Conservation Council of the Chesapeake Bay (ICC) and the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership -Tribal Coastal Resilience Connections (APNEP-TCRC). Track outreach efforts for grant reporting purposes.
