Born and raised in Michigan, Satara Fountain earned her B.A. in Environmental Science and M.S. in Environmental Justice, both from the University of Michigan. With a deep passion for empowering Indigenous communities, she now serves as Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative’s Tribal Enterprise Specialist. 

Prior to joining the IFAI team, she worked with Sustainable Molokai, a nonprofit organization on the island of Molokai, HI, to provide technical assistance in the community’s Land Back movement which supports the restoration and sustainable management of Native Hawaiian lands.
