Description:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), requests applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2026 Cold Chain Grants for Emergency Food Assistance (CCG). AMS will competitively award funds to one or more recipients to offer subawards for cold storage and distribution equipment to food banks, food pantries, and other emergency food assistance operations to improve their ability to provide high quality meats, eggs, seafood, dairy, and fresh and minimally processed fruits and vegetables to vulnerable Americans. Through these subawards, more Real Foods produced by America’s dedicated farmers and ranchers will be made available in support of healthier families and healthier communities and in alignment with the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Creating these new pathways for donated food products through cold chain support will additionally result in more efficient utilization of the U.S. food supply and avoidance of food waste.
